2024 Elections will be held October 10-15. All positions are two-year terms except the Vice President, which will be a one-year term to fill a vacated spot. These are the nominees for the open positions.
President - Judi Mackey
I have been a member of Prescott Pickleball Association for over two years. I love Pickleball and have taken clinics and lessons to hone in on my skills. In the last two years I have been a round robin captain for 3.0 and 3.5 and now am trialing at the 3.7+ round robin level. I was also responsible for orchestrating the PPA league and developing the structure by which it would run. My background includes directorship at a Fortune 500 company and various self-employment professions which I am still involved in.
Vice President - Ann Steiner
Greetings, fellow pickleballers. I participated in PPA lessons back in 2018 and joined the Association during that time. A year or so later, I became Captain of one, and then two, of our Round Robins. Since that time, I've served on the Board, initially as Member at Large, and now as Secretary. I feel this experience will allow me to be a helpful assistant to our new President as well as being able to step in if necessary. I ask for your support and votes as the new Vice President of the PPA.
Secretary - Andrea Schmidlin
I’m a retired insurance adjuster (don’t hold that against me) and have been in Prescott for just over a year. My husband Greg and I joined PPA right after moving here. I currently play in the 3.0 round robin and have been co-captain of the Advanced Beginner RR and have filled in for other RR captains when they needed a sub.PPA helped us to feel at home here in Prescott and I’ve been looking for a way to give back to PPA for a while. The position of Board Secretary sounds perfect for me.
Member at Large - Marcie Moody
My background was in the financial world for almost 30 years. I then worked in the
medical arena as assistant for Chiropractic & Optometry Offices.
I was a member of the Prescott Noon Lioness Club for several years. As a member of
the Club, I was nominated to the positions of Vice President & then President. The Club
was involved in many fundraisers for the Prescott area.
My experience with PPA goes back to the very beginning when there weren’t any
courts. I attended City & County meetings to secure approval for their creation. At that
time, I was taking lessons with Bob Atherton at Willow Baptist Church along with many
other beginners.
Since that time, I’ve been a volunteer for numerous tournaments, social get togethers &
promotion of the game of Pickleball. I was also involved with 2 tournaments that took
place at the Event Center in P V many years ago. In the past I took part in creation of
the Strategic Plan in 2017 as Member at Large on the PPA Board.
The creation of PPA was a join t effort with the City & County of Prescott & many
dedicated people. It’s incredible to see how the Association has grown & become a part
of so many peoples’ lives in such a positive way.
I’m glad to be a part of PPA creating an atmosphere & comfort level that allows anyone
to become a pickleball player to the best of their ability.
