Tuesday, 3.7 & Up - from Captain Barry Lumley: The Championship game came down to Daniel Lawson and Elijah Jonson vs Kenny Turner and Patty Fulton. The weather was quite brisk and windy for the November Championship match for the 3.75+ players. The match style of play was the Finessers and repeat appearances by Daniel and Elijah vs the smashers and Championship virgins Kenny and Patty. Daniel and Elijah got out to a quick 6-0 lead and built a steady lead throughout the contest from 6-3, 14-3, and a final of 14-4. The excitement and pressure of the match may have gotten to team Kenny and Patty as this match was their first championship play in the 3.75+play group.
Tuesday, 3.6, from Captain Mary Paez: Mike Pelletier and Sam Sar beat Roc Paez and Dave Canaan in a tough championship 3.6 match.
Wednesday, 2.7, from Captain Bill Friend: Joe Munoz and Al Wright we're victorious over John Stephens and Megan Merchant. A good time was had by all. 15 to 7 was the final score.
Thursday, 3.5, from Captain Carll Frye: Under the perfect playing conditions of clear skies and a gentle breeze, the 3.5 round robin championship unfolded. The match between the dynamic duo of Don Silseth & Jim Ray, and the seasoned pair of Tom Lloyd & Mairead Singleton, was a thrilling spectacle. The match began with a cautious exchange of shots, as both teams sought to establish dominance. However, the tide turned when Don and Jim seized the initiative, stringing together impressive points to take a commanding 8-2 lead. After the side change, Tom and Mairead fought valiantly to claw their way back into the match. But Don and Jim, with their precise strokes and strategic play, maintained their lead to secure a decisive 15-5 victory.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Daniel Castro (center, above) for his impeccable officiating. His keen eye and fair judgments contributed significantly to the smooth running of the match.
