Thursday 3.5 - After being delayed a week because of thunder, lightning and rain, the 3.5 April championship game was played on May 3rd.  With weather conditions being quite favorable John Godwin and Ed Sheldon took on Dave Cottongim and Joe Reilly.  The game was officiated by Laurel Sebastien.  From the start, the game was close and included many long and exciting rallies.  In the end, John and Ed prevailed over Dave and Joe with a final score of 15 - 10.  It is important to mention that this is the second month in a row that John Godwin has been in the finals.

Tuesday 3.6 - It was a tough match, but Jaz Jaslow and Joe Mufich held on to beat Dave Frey and Steve Buxman 15 - 11, with 'Bear' officiating.

Tuesday 3.7 and up - The 3.7+ PPA Championship at the Commerce St. Pickleball courts! The finalists for the day were Mike L and Elijah Johnson vs Chris Hennon and Daniel Lawson.  The showdown of the top dogs started auspiciously. There were several change of serves before the first point was scored.   The score was close in the beginning at 2-1, 4-2,  before Chris and Daniel opened the lead to 7-2. It was quite windy but surprisingly enough there was a lot of dinking and soft game play during the initial part of the contest. Mike and Elijah closed the score gap to 5-7.   Chris and Daniel played very well together and opened their lead by several points and eventually closed the game out at 15-7 for the win.  There were compliments by the players towards their opponents for great shots and plays. Great sportsmanship all the way around!
